High Speed Rail (West Midlands–Crewe) Bill The Examiners certified that certain Standing Orders apply to the bill (currently before the House of Commons) and that, of those which are applicable, Standing Orders 4, 4A, 10, 10A, 11, 12A, 13, 27, 27A, 33, 34, 36, 39, 41, 42, 43, 45 and 47 have not been complied with. The Examiners’ Certificate was referred to the Standing Orders Committee.
Domestic violence: victims A question was asked by Baroness Donaghy and answered by Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth.5
Mental and physical health: insurance A question was asked by Lord Blunkett and answered by Lord Bates.6
Gaming machines A question was asked by Lord Clement-Jones and answered by Lord Ashton of Hyde.7
Universities: vice-chancellors’ pay A question was asked by Lord Storey and answered by Viscount Younger of Leckie.8
Finance The Senior Deputy speaker moved that Lord Colgrain be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of Lord Leigh of Hurley, resigned. The motion was agreed to.
Update on proposed Fox–Sky merger process Lord Keen of Elie repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.10
United Kingdom and European Union relations Baroness Anelay of St Johns moved that this House takes note of the position papers and future partnership papers published by Her Majesty’s Government on the United Kingdom’s future relationship with the European Union. After debate, the motion was agreed to.11
Hurricane Irma Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
