Deaths of Lords The Lord Speaker (Lord McFall of Alcluith) informed the House that the following members of the House had died: Lord Smith of Leigh on 2 August Viscount Simon on 15 August (at 11:09)

Notification of retirement The Clerk of the Parliaments informed the House that he had received written notice from Lord Beecham under section 1 of the House of Lords Reform Act 2014 stating that he would retire from the House on 1 September 2021.

Leave of Absence Leave of absence was granted to Lord Palumbo of Southwark for the remainder of this Session.

Procedure and Privileges The following Report from the Select Committee was made and ordered to be printed on 29 July: Sitting times of Grand Committees; Timetabling of Thursday debates; Legislative Consent Motions for Lords Private Members' Bills. (2nd Report, HL Paper 61)
