House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) (Abolition of By-Elections) Bill [HL] The report was received. Amendment 2 to amendment 1 was agreed to. Then amendment 1, as amended, was agreed to. A motion that the question on amendment 2A be now put was agreed to (see division 1). Amendment 2A was disagreed to (see division 2). Amendment 5 was disagreed to in accordance with Standing Order 53(2). Amendments 6 and 7 were disagreed to. Amendment 12 was disagreed to (see division 3). The report stage was adjourned after amendment 14.3
Christchurch attacks A one-minute silence was observed to mark the events in Christchurch on 15 March.4
Cohabitation Rights Bill [HL] Lord Marks of Henley-on-Thames moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
