Summary
Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2016 (Consequential Provisions) Order 2017 Lord Duncan of Springbank moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 13 September 2017 be approved. Then Lord Foulkes of Cumnock moved, as an amendment to the motion, at end to insert "but that this House regrets that the draft Order includes provisions relating to the British Transport Police; and calls upon Her Majesty’s Government to review the operation of those provisions in the light of concerns that incorporating British Transport Police into Police Scotland will reduce operational effectiveness." After debate, the amendment was withdrawn. Then the original motion was agreed to.
