Summary
Benchmarks (Amendment and Transitional Provision) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 Lord Bates moved that the draft Regulations laid before the House on 24 January 2019 be approved. Then Lord Adonis moved, as an amendment to the motion, leave out from “that” to the end and insert “this House declines to approve the draft Regulations because no consultation has taken place on them despite Her Majesty’s Government’s economic assessment indicating that transition and associated costs will be significant.” After debate, the amendment was withdrawn. Then the original motion was agreed to.
