Summary
Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 Baroness Sugg moved that the draft Regulations laid before the House on 24 January 2019 be approved. Then Baroness Randerson moved, as an amendment to the motion, at the end insert “but this House regrets that residents of the United Kingdom could be denied access to justice when injured abroad as they will have to make claims for compensation in the country in which the injury occurred rather than being able to appoint a claims representative in the United Kingdom.” After debate, the amendment was withdrawn. Then the original motion was agreed to.
