Summary
Flags (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 Lord Duncan of Springbank moved that the draft Regulations laid before the House on 25 February 2019 be approved. Then Lord Bruce of Bennachie moved, as an amendment to the motion, “but this House regrets that the draft Regulations are unnecessary as there is no value in prohibiting the flying of flags in Northern Ireland on Europe Day, which celebrates peace and prosperity in Europe.” After debate, the amendment was disagreed to (see division). Then the original motion was agreed to.
