Summary
Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2020 Baroness Williams of Trafford moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 21 July 2020 be approved. Then Lord Rosser moved, as an amendment to the motion, at the end to insert “but this House regrets that the Order increases the immigration health charge; and fails to exempt key workers outside the scope of the Health and Care Visa, and National Health Service and social care staff already working on the frontline in the United Kingdom during the COVID-19 pandemic, from being required to pay the charge upfront.” After debate, the amendment was withdrawn. Then the original motion was agreed to.
