5 Special advisers A question was asked by Lord Sheldon and answered by Lord Strathclyde.

6 Barnett formula A question was asked by Lord Barnett and answered by Lord De Mauley.

7 Academies Bill [HL] Lord Hill of Oareford moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
