1 Lord Davies of Stamford John Quentin Davies, Esquire, having been created Baron Davies of Stamford, of Stamford in the County of Lincolnshire, for life by Letters Patent dated 7 July 2010, was introduced between Lord Temple-Morris and Lord Radice, took and subscribed the oath and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct. (See Appendix 1)

4 City of Westminster Bill [HL] The Chairman of Committees informed the House that, in accordance with Private Business Standing Order 150B (Revival of Bills), the bill had been deposited in the office of the Clerk of the Parliaments together with the declaration of the agent. The bill was presented and read a first time. It was then deemed to have been read a second time and committed to a Select Committee. The Chairman of Committees informed the House that he had appointed the following Lords to form the Select Committee on the bill:
- L Brougham and Vaux
- V Craigavon
- L Methuen
- E Onslow
- B Prosser (Chairman).

5 Housing A question was asked by Baroness Whitaker and answered by Baroness Hanham.
6 Freedoms and civil liberties A question was asked by Lord Waddington and answered by Baroness Neville-Jones.
7 Education: history A question was asked by Lord Clinton-Davis and answered by Lord Hill of Oareford.
8 Linda Carty A question was asked by Lord Faulkner of Worcester and answered by Baroness Neville-Jones.
9 Africa: post-conflict stabilisation (Balloted debate) Lord Chidgey moved for papers relating to developments in regional post-conflict stabilisation in eastern and central Africa. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
10 Terrorism Act 2000 Baroness Neville-Jones repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
11 Housing (Balloted debate) Baroness Ford moved for papers relating to the level of affordable housing. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
