1 Lord Stevenson of Balmacara Robert Wilfrid Stevenson, Esquire, having been created Baron Stevenson of Balmacara, of Little Missenden in the County of Buckinghamshire, for life by Letters Patent dated 13 July 2010, was introduced between Lord Haskel and Lord Evans of Temple Guiting, made and subscribed the solemn affirmation and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct. (See Appendix 1)

9 Terrorist Asset-Freezing etc. Bill [HL] Lord Sassoon presented a bill to make provision for imposing financial restrictions on, and in relation to, certain persons suspected of involvement in terrorist activities; to amend Schedule 7 to the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008; and for connected purposes. 11 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Lord Thomas of Gresford set down for today shall be limited to 3 hours and that in the name of Lord Greaves to 2 hours. The motion was agreed to.
12 Criminal justice system (3-hour debate) Lord Thomas of Gresford moved for papers relating to the reform of the criminal justice system, in particular to the effectiveness of alternatives to custody. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
13 Rural communities (2-hour debate) Lord Greaves moved for papers relating to the future of rural communities, in particular those in the Uplands and more remote parts of the United Kingdom. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
