8 European Council Lord Strathclyde repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

9 Energy: climate change Lord Marland moved that this House takes note of the future of energy policy in the light of the climate change challenge. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

10 Defence: France Lord Astor of Hever repeated as a ministerial statement the answer given to an Urgent Question in the House of Commons.

11 Transport: bus industry A question was asked by Lord Bradshaw and, after debate, answered by Earl Attlee.
