1 Visas A question was asked by Lord Clement-Jones and answered by Earl Attlee.

2 Roads: charging A question was asked by Lord Berkeley and answered by Earl Attlee.

3 European Union: defence pact with Russia A question was asked by Lord Giddens and answered by Lord Howell of Guildford.

4 Burma A question was asked by Lord Faulkner of Worcester and answered by Lord Howell of Guildford.

5 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Lord Greaves set down for today shall be limited to 1¾ hours and that in the name of Lord Maclennan of Rogart to 3¼ hours. The motion was agreed to.

6 Common Agricultural Policy (1¾-hour debate) Lord Greaves moved for papers relating to proposals for reform of the Common Agricultural Policy. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

7 Active citizenship (3¼-hour debate) Lord Maclennan of Rogart moved for papers relating to the role of active citizenship in society. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

8 Socio-economic equality duty Baroness Verma repeated as a ministerial statement the answer given to an Urgent Question in the House of Commons.

9 Council of Europe Lord Howell of Guildford moved that this House takes note of the work of the Council of Europe. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
