7 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that Standing Order 46 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with on Tuesday 7 December to allow the Savings Accounts and Health in Pregnancy Grant Bill to be taken through its remaining stages that day. Then Lord McKenzie of Luton moved, as an amendment to the original motion, to leave out from "that" to the end and insert "it is desirable that the Savings Accounts and Health in Pregnancy Grant Bill should go through its legislative stages in a timetable which allows this House to scrutinise the provisions of the Bill and allows both Houses to pass the Bill without recourse to enactment under section 1 of the Parliament Act 1911". The debate on the amendment was adjourned.

8 Business of the House The debate on the amendment moved by Lord McKenzie of Luton to the motion moved by Lord Strathclyde was resumed. The amendment was disagreed to (see division list 1). Then the original motion was agreed to.

9 Autumn forecast Lord Sassoon repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

10 Public Bodies Bill [HL] The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 5. Amendment 17 was disagreed to (see division list 2). The House resumed.

11 Health: academic health partnerships A question was asked by Baroness Finlay of Llandaff and, after debate, answered by Earl Howe.

12 Public Bodies Bill [HL] The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 18. The House resumed after amendment 18.
