1 European Union: budget A question was asked by Lord Campbell of Alloway and answered by Lord Sassoon.

2 Sham marriages A question was asked by Baroness Sharples and answered by Lord Wallace of Saltaire.

3 Public libraries: funding A question was asked by Lord Harrison and answered by Baroness Rawlings.

4 Standards in public life A question was asked by Lord Tyler and answered by Lord McNally.

5 Business of the House Lord McNally, on behalf of Lord Strathclyde, moved that the debates on the motions in the names of Lord Alton of Liverpool and Lord Janvrin set down for today shall each be limited to 2½ hours. The motion was agreed to.

6 Human rights (2½-hour debate) Lord Alton of Liverpool moved for papers relating to human rights abuses worldwide and to the recommendations of the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission on how the Foreign and Commonwealth Office pursues human rights questions. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

7 Philanthropy (2½-hour debate) Lord Janvrin moved for papers relating to the case for encouraging philanthropy. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

8 Income-related Benefits (Subsidy to Authorities) (Temporary Accommodation) Amendment Order 2010 Lord Knight of Weymouth moved that this House takes note of the Income-related Benefits (Subsidy to Authorities) (Temporary Accommodation) Amendment Order 2010 (SI 2010/2509). After debate, the motion was agreed to.
