1 Lord Marks of Henley-on-Thames Jonathan Clive Marks, Esquire, QC, having been created Baron Marks of Henley-on-Thames, of Henley-on-Thames in the County of Oxfordshire, for life by Letters Patent dated in the forenoon of 11 January 2011, was introduced between Lord Goodhart and Baroness Falkner of Margravine, took and subscribed the oath and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct. (See Appendix 1)

2 Lord Wasserman Gordon Joshua Wasserman, Esquire, having been created Baron Wasserman, of Pimlico in the City of Westminster, for life by Letters Patent dated in the afternoon of 11 January 2011, was introduced between Lord Gavron and Lord Taverne, took and subscribed the oath and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct. 8 Postal Services Bill A bill to make provision for the restructuring of the Royal Mail group and about the Royal Mail Pension Plan; to make new provision about the regulation of postal services, including provision for a special administration regime; and for connected purposes was brought from the Commons. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 38)

10 Breaks for Carers of Disabled Children Regulations 2011 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Regulations be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.

11 Turkey (Balloted debate) Baroness Hussein-Ece moved for papers relating to the economic and strategic role of Turkey in Europe and the Middle East. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

12 Violence against women (Balloted debate) Baroness Gould of Potternewton moved for papers relating to reform of the law, and to the strategy and support services, in relation to violence against women. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

13 Revised Draft National Policy Statement for Nuclear Power Generation, volumes I and II (EN–6) The Grand Committee reported that it had considered the draft national policy statement.

14 National Health Service: front-line and specialised services A question was asked by Lord Turnberg and, after debate, answered by Earl Howe.

15 National Insurance Contributions Bill A bill to make provision for and in connection with increasing rates of national insurance contributions and a regional secondary Class 1 contributions holiday for new businesses was brought from the Commons. Revised Draft National Policy Statement for Nuclear Power Generation, volumes I and II (EN–6) Lord Marland moved that the Grand Committee do consider the Revised Draft National Policy Statement for Nuclear Power Generation, volumes I and II (EN–6). After debate, the motion was agreed to.
