1 Lord Glasman Maurice Mark Glasman, Esquire,having been created Baron Glasman, of Stoke Newington and of Stamford Hill in the London Borough of Hackney, for life by Letters Patent dated in the forenoon of 4 February 2011, was introduced between Lord Falconer of Thoroton and Baroness Healy of Primrose Hill, took and subscribed the oath and signed an undertaking to abide by the Code of Conduct. Public Business

6 Big Society: women's organisations A question was asked by Baroness Gould of Potternewton and answered by Baroness Warsi.

7 Credit unions A question was asked by Lord Kennedy of Southwark and answered by Lord Sassoon.

8 Women: assistance in pregnancy A question was asked by Baroness Gale and answered by Lord Freud.

9 Insurance: gender discrimination A question was asked by Lord Gordon of Strathblane and answered by Baroness Verma.

10 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that Standing Order 46 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with on Wednesday 9 March to allow the Consolidated Fund (Appropriation) (No. 2) Bill to be taken through its remaining stages that day. The motion was agreed to.

11 Draft Detention of Terrorist Suspects (Temporary Extension) Bills Lord Strathclyde moved that it is expedient that a joint committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider and report on the draft Detention of Terrorist Suspects (Temporary Extension) Bills presented to both Houses on 11 February (Cm 8018) and that the committee should report on the draft Bills by 9 June. The motion was agreed to and a message was sent to the Commons.

12 Jobseeker's Allowance (Work Experience) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 Lord Freud moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 26 January be approved. The motion was agreed to.

13 Postal Services Bill The bill was considered in Committee. The House resumed after amendment 7.

The House adjourned. The House resumed.

14 Energy Bill [HL] The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 167. Amendments were agreed to. The bill, as amended, was ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 54)

15 Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 (Continuance in Force of Sections 1 to 9) Order 2011 Baroness Neville-Jones moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 3 February be approved. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

The House adjourned at 8.56pm until Wednesday 9 March at 3.00pm.
