1 Barony of Kennet in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Petition of William Aldus Young claiming to have succeeded to the Barony of Kennet in the Peerage of the United Kingdom and praying that the Clerk of the Parliaments might be directed to enter the petitioner as Lord Kennet on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5) was presented and was referred to the Lord Chancellor for a report to the House pursuant to Standing Order 11.

5 European Union: Budget A question was asked by Lord Campbell of Alloway and answered by Lord Sassoon.
6 Procedure of the House The Chairman of Committees moved that the 4th Report from the Select Committee (HL Paper 127) be agreed to. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
7 Poverty in the developing world (Balloted debate) Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale moved for papers relating to those living in extreme poverty in the developing world. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
8 Government departments: soft power (Balloted debate) Baroness Taylor of Bolton moved for papers relating to the level of co-ordination between Government departments on the use of soft power in the interests of the United Kingdom. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
Private Business
9 City of London (Various Powers) Bill [HL] Lord Brooke of Sutton Mandeville moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to and the bill was committed to an Unopposed Bill Committee.
