7 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that Standing Order 40 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be dispensed with on Monday 16 May to allow the motions standing in the names of Lord Avebury and Lord Hunt of Kings Heath to be taken before the European Union Bill. The motion was agreed to.

12 European Union: United Kingdom convergence programme Lord Sassoon moved that this House approves, for the purposes of section 5 of the European Communities (Amendment) Act 1993, the Government’s assessment as set out in the Budget Report, combined with the Office for Budget Responsibility’s Economic and Fiscal Outlook, which forms the basis of the United Kingdom’s Convergence Programme. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

13 Economic growth and the United Kingdom National Reform Programme (EUC Report) Baroness O’Cathain moved that this House takes note of the Report of the European Union Committee on The EU strategy for economic growth and the UK National Reform Programme (5th Report, HL Paper 81).
