22 Draft House of Lords Reform Bill A message was brought from the Commons that they concur with the resolution of this House of 7 June relating to a Joint Committee to consider the draft House of Lords Reform Bill presented to both Houses on 17 May and that they have made the following orders:
That a Select Committee of thirteen Members be appointed to join with the Committee appointed by the Lords to consider the draft Bill.
That the Committee should report on the draft Bill by 29 February 2012.
That the Committee shall have power—
(i) to send for persons, papers and records;
(ii) to sit notwithstanding any adjournment of the House;
(iii) to report from time to time;
(iv) to appoint specialist advisers; and
(v) to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom.
The House adjourned at 7.27pm until Monday 27 June at 2.30pm.
