Prayers were read by the Lord Bishop of Derby.

1 Lord Hanningfield The Lord Speaker informed the House that the Clerk of the Parliaments had received notification from the Court Manager of Maidstone Combined Court Centre informing him that Lord Hanningfield, having been convicted on 26 May 2011 of six counts of false accounting, was sentenced on 1 July 2011 to 9 months’ imprisonment.

Public Business

2 National Health Service: university health centres A question was asked by Baroness Gardner of Parkes and answered by Earl Howe.

3 Sri Lanka A question was asked by Lord Kennedy of Southwark and answered by Lord Howell of Guildford.

4 Health: stroke care A question was asked by Baroness Wheeler and answered by Earl Howe.

5 Olympic Games 2012: tickets A question was asked by Lord Dubs and answered by Baroness Garden of Frognal.

6 Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 15A. Amendments were agreed to. Amendment 34A was disagreed to (see division list). The report stage was adjourned.

7 Reform of social care Earl Howe repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

8 Justice and Security (Northern Ireland) Act 2007 (Extension of duration of non-jury trial provisions) Order 2011 Lord Shutt of Greetland moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 5 April be approved. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

The House adjourned. The House resumed.

9 Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill The report stage was continued, beginning with amendment 74. Amendments were agreed to. The report stage was adjourned after amendment 100.

The House adjourned at 10.12pm until Tuesday 5 July at 2.30pm.

Grand Committee Business

The Grand Committee met in the Moses Room at 3.30pm.

Education Bill The Grand Committee further considered the bill, beginning with amendment 37. Amendments were agreed to. The Committee adjourned after clause 8, as amended, was agreed to.
