1 Legal aid A question was asked by Lord Harrison and answered by Lord McNally.

2 Fair Employment Agency A question was asked by Baroness Prosser and answered by Baroness Wilcox.

3 Nuclear reactors A question was asked by Baroness Smith of Basildon and answered by Lord Marland.

4 Personal injury lawyers A question was asked by Lord Sheikh and answered by Lord McNally.

5 BSkyB A private notice question was asked by Baroness Royall of Blaisdon and answered by Baroness Rawlings.

6 Communications The Chairman of Committees moved that the Lord Bishop of Norwich be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of the Lord Bishop of Liverpool, resigned, and that the Earl of Selborne be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of the Earl of Onslow, deceased. The motion was agreed to.

7 Pensions Act 2007 (Abolition of Contracting-out for Defined Contribution Pension Schemes) (Consequential Amendments) (No. 2) Regulations 2011 Lord Freud moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 14 May be approved. The motion was agreed to.

8 Pensions Act 2008 (Abolition of Protected Rights) (Consequential Amendments) (No. 2) Order 2011 Lord Freud moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 14 May be approved. The motion was agreed to.

9 Localism Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 133E. The House resumed.

10 Supply and Appropriation (Main Estimates) Bill A bill to authorise the use of resources for the year ending with 31 March 2012; to authorise both the issue of sums out of the Consolidated Fund and the application of income for that year; and to appropriate the supply authorised for that year by this Act and by the Consolidated Fund Act 2010, certified by the Speaker as a money bill, was brought from the Commons and read a first time.

11 UK Borders Act 2007 (Commencement No. 7 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2011 Lord Avebury moved that this House regrets that the UK Borders Act 2007 (Commencement No. 7 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2011 (SI 2011/1293) changes the law that applies to appeals that have already been lodged. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

12 Localism Bill The bill was further considered in Committee, beginning with amendment 136A. The House resumed after Schedule 8 was agreed to.

13 Police (Detention and Bail) Bill A bill to make provision about the calculation of certain periods of time for the purposes of Part 4 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 was brought from the Commons. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 82)

14 Police (Detention and Bail) Bill The Explanatory Notes on the bill were ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 82—EN)

15 Finance (No. 3) Bill It was ordered that the Bill be published. (HL Bill 83)
