4 National Health Service: hospitals A question was asked by Lord Clinton-Davis and answered by Earl Howe.

5 Health and Social Care Bill A bill to establish and make provision about a National Health Service Commissioning Board and clinical commissioning groups and to make other provision about the National Health Service in England; to make provision about public health in the United Kingdom; to make provision about regulating health and adult social care services; to make provision about public involvement in health and social care matters, scrutiny of health matters by local authorities and co-operation between local authorities and commissioners of health care services; to make provision about regulating health and social care workers; to establish and make provision about a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; to establish and make provision about a Health and Social Care Information Centre and to make other provision about information relating to health or social care matters; to abolish certain public bodies involved in health or social care; to make other provision about health care; and for connected purposes was brought from the Commons. 7 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Baroness Hooper set down for today shall be limited to 4 hours and that in the name of Viscount Bridgeman to 1 hour. The motion was agreed to.

8 Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (4-hour debate) Baroness Hooper moved for papers relating to the "Century of Excellence" of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and to the continuing role of the Commonwealth. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

9 Health professionals: European Economic Area and non-European Economic Area citizens (1-hour debate) Viscount Bridgeman moved for papers relating to the disparity in the authorisation procedures for European Economic Area (EEA) and non-EEA citizens who are seeking to practise as health professionals in the United Kingdom. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.

10 Fixed-Term Parliaments Bill The bill was returned from the Commons with an amendment. It was ordered that the Commons amendment be printed. (HL Bill 93)

11 Armed Forces Bill The bill was reported from the Grand Committee without amendment.

12 Baha Mousa inquiry Lord Astor of Hever repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

13 Multiculturalism: interfaith dialogue A question was asked by Lord Mitchell and, after debate, answered by Baroness Warsi.
