Public Business

4 Transport: automatic number plate recognition A question was asked by Baroness Gardner of Parkes and answered by Earl Attlee.

5 Museums and galleries A question was asked by Lord Sheldon and answered by Baroness Rawlings.

6 House of Lords: reform A question was asked by Lord Kakkar and answered by Lord McNally.

7 Value Added Tax: places of worship A question was asked by Lord Northbrook and answered by Lord Sassoon.

8 Procedure of the House The Chairman of Committees moved that the 12th Report from the Select Committee (HL Paper 283) be agreed to. The motion was agreed to.

9 Scotland Bill Lord Wallace of Tankerness signified the Queen's consent. The bill was read a third time. Amendments were agreed to. Then the bill was passed and returned to the Commons with amendments.

10 Protection of Freedoms Bill The Commons reason and amendments were considered.

Motion A Lords amendments 16, 17 and 18 were not insisted on and amendment 16B in lieu was disagreed to (see division list 1).

Motion B Commons amendments 51A, 51B, 51C, 51D and 51E were agreed to and amendment 51F as an amendment to amendment 51C was disagreed to (see division list 2).

Motion C Commons amendments 133A, 133B and 133C were agreed to.

11 Metropolitan Police: Stephen Lawrence investigation Lord Henley repeated as a ministerial statement the answer given to an Urgent Question in the House of Commons.

12 Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill The bill was returned from the Commons with reasons and an amendment. The Commons reasons and amendment were ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 141)

13 Sunday Trading (London Olympic and Paralympic Games) Bill [HL] Lord Sassoon moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
