1 Viscountcy of Ridley in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Petition of Matthew White Ridley claiming to have succeeded to the Viscountcy of Ridley in the Peerage of the United Kingdom and praying that the Clerk of the Parliaments might be directed to enter the petitioner as Viscount Ridley on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5) was presented and was referred to the Lord Chancellor for a report to the House pursuant to Standing Order 11.

2 Barony of Suffield in the Peerage of Great Britain The Petition of The Honourable Charles Anthony Assheton Harbord-Hamond claiming to have succeeded to the Barony of Suffield in the Peerage of Great Britain and praying that the Clerk of the Parliaments might be directed to enter the petitioner as Lord Suffield on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5) was presented and referred to the Lord Chancellor for a report to the House pursuant to Standing Order 11.

3 Barony of Somerleyton in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Hugh Francis Savile Crossley had established his succession to the Barony of Somerleyton. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Lord Somerleyton on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).

6 Groceries Code Adjudicator Bill [HL] Baroness Wilcox presented a bill to set up a Groceries Code Adjudicator with the role of enforcing the Groceries Code and encouraging compliance with it. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 2)

8 European Union (Approval of Treaty Amendment Decision) Bill [HL] Lord Howell of Guildford presented a bill to make provision for the purposes of section 3 of the European Union Act 2011 in relation to the European Council decision of 25 March 2011 amending Article 136 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union with regard to a stability mechanism for Member States whose currency is the euro. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 3)

10 Crime and Courts Bill [HL] Lord Henley presented a bill to establish, and make provision about, the National Crime Agency; to abolish the Serious Organised Crime Agency and the National Policing Improvement Agency; to make provision about the judiciary and the structure, administration, proceedings and powers of courts and tribunals; to make provision about border control; to make provision about drugs and driving; and for connected purposes. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 4)

12 Inheritance (Cohabitants) Bill [HL] Lord Lester of Herne Hill presented a bill to make provision about the property of deceased persons who are survived by a cohabitant. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 5)

13 Company Remuneration Bill [HL] Lord Gavron presented a bill to make provision about companies’ remuneration policies. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 6)

14 Arbitration and Mediation Services (Equality) Bill [HL] Baroness Cox presented a bill to make further provision about arbitration and mediation services and the application of equality legislation to such services; to make provision about the protection of victims of domestic abuse; and for connected purposes. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 7)

15 Online Safety Bill [HL] Baroness Howe of Idlicote presented a bill to make provision about the promotion of online safety; to require internet service providers and mobile phone operators to provide a service that excludes pornographic images; and to require electronic device manufacturers to provide a means of filtering content. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 8)

16 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved, pursuant to the resolution of the House of 28 March, that in the event of a Trusts (Capital and Income) Bill being read a first time in the same form as it stood at the end of the last session of Parliament, Standing Order 46 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with to enable the Bill to be read a second time pro forma. The motion was agreed to.

17 Trusts (Capital and Income) Bill [HL] Standing Order 46 having been dispensed with, Lord McNally moved that the bill be now read a second time pro forma. The motion was agreed to.

18 Queen’s Speech The debate on the motion that a Humble Address be presented to Her Majesty was resumed and, after further debate, was again adjourned until Monday 14 May.

19 Health transition risk register Earl Howe repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

20 Defence: carrier strike capability Lord Astor of Hever repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
