1 Viscountcy of Ridley in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Matthew White Ridley had established his succession to the Viscountcy of Ridley. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Viscount Ridley on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).
2 Barony of Suffield in the Peerage of Great Britain The Lord Chancellor reported that Charles Anthony Assheton Harbord-Hamond had established his succession to the Barony of Suffield. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Lord Suffield on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).
3 Barony of Hemphill in the Peerage of the United Kingdom The Lord Chancellor reported that Charles Andrew Martyn Martyn-Hemphill had established his succession to the Barony of Hemphill. The Clerk of the Parliaments was accordingly directed to enter Lord Hemphill on the register of hereditary peers maintained under Standing Order 10(5).
4 Lord Maples The Lord Speaker informed the House that Lord Maples, a member of the House, had died on 9 June 2012.

11 Membership of the House of Lords (Elections) Bill [HL] Lord Selsdon presented a bill to provide for the Standing Orders of the House of Lords to designate certain members of the House of Lords as elected peers. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 30)
12 European Parliamentary Elections Bill [HL] Lord Teverson presented a bill to amend the European Parliamentary Elections Act 2002 so as to alter the method used in Great Britain and Gibraltar for electing members of the European Parliament. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 31)
13 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that Standing Order 40 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be dispensed with on Thursday 14 June to enable the motion standing in the name of Lord Adonis to be taken before the motion standing in the name of Baroness Jones of Whitchurch. The motion was agreed to.
14 Electoral Registration Data Schemes Order 2012 Lord Wallace of Saltaire moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.
15 Infrastructure Planning (Waste Water Transfer and Storage) Order 2012 Lord De Mauley, on behalf of Lord Taylor of Holbeach, moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 26 March be approved. The motion was agreed to.
16 Advisory Committee on Hazardous Substances (Abolition) Order 2012 Lord De Mauley, on behalf of Lord Taylor of Holbeach, moved that the draft Order laid before the House on 27 February be approved. The motion was agreed to.

20 Financial Services Bill Lord Sassoon moved that the bill be now read a second time. After debate, the motion was agreed to. Then it was moved that the bill be committed to a Grand Committee. After debate, the motion was withdrawn.
21 Syria Lord Howell of Guildford repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
