3 National Health Service: hospital services A question was asked by Lord Warner and answered by Earl Howe.

4 National Health Service: hospital beds A question was asked by Lord Turnberg and answered by Earl Howe.

5 Police (Complaints and Conduct) Bill A bill to make provision about interviews held during certain investigations under Schedule 3 to the Police Reform Act 2002; and about the application of Part 2 of that Act to matters occurring before 1 April was brought from the Commons. It was read a first time and ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 68)

6 Police (Complaints and Conduct) Bill The Explanatory Notes on the bill were ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 68–EN)

7 Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Lord Howell of Guildford set down for today shall be limited to 3 hours and that in the name of Lord Popat to 2 hours. The motion was agreed to.

8 Scotland Act 1998 (Modification of Schedule 5) (No. 2) Order 2013 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.

9 Public Bodies (Water Supply and Water Quality Fees) Order 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.

10 Foreign affairs: the United Kingdom's global role (3-hour debate) Lord Howell of Guildford moved that this House takes note of the United Kingdom’s new global role, emerging powers and new markets. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

11 Ugandan Asians (2-hour debate) Lord Popat moved that this House takes note of the contribution made by the Ugandan Asian community in the United Kingdom on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of their expulsion from Uganda. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

12 Economy: growth A question was asked by Lord Heseltine and, after debate, answered by Lord Marland.
