2 Crime: wildlife crime A question was asked by Baroness Miller of Chilthorne Domer and answered by Lord De Mauley.

4 Waste management: refuse collections A question was asked by Lord Storey and answered by Baroness Hanham.

5 Children: childcare costs A question was asked by Baroness Deech and answered by Lord Newby.

6 Syria A private notice question was asked by Baroness Falkner of Margravine and answered by Baroness Warsi.

7 Business of the House Lord Hill of Oareford moved that Standing Order 40(5) (Arrangement of the order paper) be suspended from Thursday 7 February until the end of the session. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

8 Business of the House Lord Hill of Oareford moved that Standing Order 46 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day) be dispensed with to allow the HGV Road User Levy Bill to be taken through all its remaining stages on Thursday 7 February. The motion was agreed to.

9 Business of the House Lord Hill of Oareford moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Baroness Noakes set down for today shall be limited to 3 hours and that in the name of Lord MacGregor of Pulham Market to 2 hours. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

10 European Union: Prime Minister's speech (3-hour debate) Baroness Noakes moved that this House takes note of the Prime Minister’s speech on Europe on 23 January. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

11 Visas: student visa policy (2-hour debate) Lord MacGregor of Pulham Market moved that this House takes note of the impact of student visa policy on admissions to universities in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. After debate, the motion was agreed to.

12 South London Healthcare NHS Trust Earl Howe repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.

13 Economy: north-east England A question was asked by Lord Bates and, after debate, answered by Lord Popat.

14 Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill The bill was reported from the Grand Committee with amendments. The bill, as amended, was ordered to be printed. (HL Bill 83)

Grand Committee Business

The Grand Committee met in the Moses Room at 2.00pm.

Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill The Grand Committee further considered the bill, beginning with amendment 29. Amendments were agreed to. It was ordered that the bill be reported with amendments.
